Intersected
by the river, Rio Real is basically flat with many trees under
which to shelter from the Andalusian sun. Designed
by Spain's top architect Javier Arana, Rio Real Golf Course
opened in 1965. It follows a gradual incline towards the sea
but is otherwise flat. Golf here is a very pleasant experience,
offering wonderful views, well established trees and much
appreciated shade while the river intersects the course at
various points. The dogleg 10th hole is a pretty par 4 leading
to a spectacular 11th tee overlooking a green whose access
lies across a ravine.
