It
is one of the most original courses, not only of the Costa
del Sol but of Spain, for it is designed in Scottish style
by Peter Allis and Clive Clark, and considered to be the first
authentic type "links" course in this country. Its
originality also lies in the fact that it borders the Mediterranean,
close to splendid and well-looked after beaches, only a few
kilometres from the Straits of Gibraltar. This geographic
enclave, of extraordinary lanscape beauty and profuse in flora
and fauna, gracefully complement the facilities so perfectly
kept with the sort of care that their high standing deserves.
The course is undulating with gentle hills and just a few
metres of flat land. The par-three 2nd hole demands to tee-off
with a long iron in order to avoid the conspiracy of various
enemies, namely, one river, one gully and the beach itself.
