This
course is located in a mountainous area and has retained its
natural appearance. The layout features narrow fairways and
well-designed greens. There are several difficulties - dangerous
roughs, short fairways and water hazards. The 10th hole is
worthy of note and is surrounded by lakes and the 3rd is overwhelming.
The wild flora and fauna of the area have been preserved.
Good technique is required.
Estepona Golf is a course whose layout, like many others on
the Costa del SoL, have been adapted to undulating land and
is located not far from the town of Estepona. The interest
of its design, Jose Luis Martinez, in preserving its natural
contours, made it necessary to build short and narrow fairways,
with extreamely dangerious roughs, which require constant
concentration.
It shows a fair amount od forest obstacles, such aseucalyptus,
wild olive-trees and palms, added to the water hazards that
gather together at the central holes, the 6th, the 10th and
the 11th which are the most successful. The natural inviroment
affords spots of great beauty. Puting aside the most spectacular
hole nicknamed The ski Slope the 3rd par-five gradually falling
away towards the green that, with a good oepening drive, it
is possiblereach in two shots - we can highlight another spectacular
hole, the par four 10th, whose green can be reached after
going across four lakes and avoiding three bunkers. |
